Pat testing / Test & Inspect

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) is the process of checking electrical appliances for safety through a series of visual inspections and electronic tests. It is the best way to ensure that your appliances are kept safe. This is a good way for landlords to ensure that they are meeting their obligations to maintain high standards of electrical safety in their rented property. For more information please click here

Periodic Inspection Testing

All electrical installations deteriorate with age and use. They should therefore be inspected and tested at regular intervals to check whether they are in a satisfactory condition for continued use. Such safety checks are commonly referred to as ‘Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)’.

The aim of an electrical installation condition report is to:

• Record the results of the inspection and testing to make sure it is safe to be used until the next inspection (following any work to make it safe)
• Report on damage and wear and tear that might affect the safety
• Report on the installation that does not meet the requirement of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) wiring Regulation
• Report on anything that may cause high temperatures and electric shock

On completion of the test you will be issued with an Electrical Installation Condition Report.
